Concorde to Fly Again

Work starts in £15m plan to get Concorde flying.

The engines on a French Concorde are to be examined as the first move in a £15m project aiming to get the supersonic passenger jet back in the air.

It is hoped the jet will be able to fly as part of the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.

About time. I was never sure why, even though it was retired, no one wanted to keep them flying, there must be a way to make it work. As has been shown, this was a plane so far ahead of its time no one has even bothered to attempt making anything like it. Surely Concorde, along with a Harrier jump jet, shows British aeronautics is in a league of its own, we need to make more of things like this.
