About the Author
My name’s Lee. Lee Penney to be exact. I live just outside of Southampton (on the South coast of England, in the United Kingdom for anyone who’s not sure where that is see map). In amongst daily life I like to spend my time reading, playing football, watching movies, writing (well, more thinking about writing) and building and maintaining a number (an ever-growing number it seems) of websites (check out the list on this page).
I’ve been building web sites since about 1996 and converted to web standards and CSS in particular some while back. My main passion lies in films, I try and watch as many as I can
About the Site
The Digerati Peninsula allows me to share some of my views, stories and articles, good and bad, with the world at large. It also allows you to comment on them, and please do, there’s nothing a writer likes more than feedback, good or bad (though good is obviously better — no pressure). So feel free to wander the Peninsula, visit the links, comment, or just hang out, if that’s your thing.
It’s not finished yet, and will probably prove to be more of an ongoing project, with constant little improvements as and when, either from user feedback, or some crazy notion I got.
The Site Name
What’s the name all about? Well, when naming the site, I was looking for something cool, unusual and obscure. Most of the single words had gone, at least the ones I liked, so I started searching for cool words. That’s when the Archive of Cool Words came to my rescue. When trawling the list, I noticed Digerati which means: persons knowledgeable about computers and technology and thought it was apt. Then, for some reason, I decided to have a ‘place’ so went looking for a place term that would fit. I trawled astronomy sites for terms of distant galaxies and what-not but didn’t find anything that stuck. Then Peninsula hit me, and there you have it.
