The Chosen One

On the subject of trying to pick an idea for my NaNoWriMo attempt, general consensus seems to agree with me in that most people thought ideas one, three and four were the better ones, but I’ve decided to go with idea number four. Why? Well, I think it poses fewer problems on the research front and is more forgiving from a plot point of view (it has be pretty water-tight in the others), which means I can make it up or muddle my way through and get on with the important part — getting as many words as possible down in order to hit the word limit. To this end, because it has a completely global playing field, I think it also has potential in allowing me to hit the word count without running out of plot.

So, having decided, I need to do some research and string together at least a loose plot. I need to invent some characters, find motives, and try and see the whole chess game before I get there, but not in too much detail otherwise I’ll lose some of the spontaneity. As always, suggestions appreciated.
