Low Alcohol Beer

Tuesday, 14th November 2006

It seems the big brands are trying to get us to replace our regular tipple with a low-alcohol alternative which packs the same taste. Alcohol-free beer has been around for a long time but I’ve never seen anyone drink it, I’m not sure anyone I know would have the nerve to buy any in the pub.

On the other hand, I’m regularly driving when meeting friends at the pub, so I make sure to only drink well within the limits, and then I’m on to soft drinks, which usually means coke, lemonade or, when I’m feeling daring, orange juice and lemonade. So an alternative would be nice, low-alcohol versions might be the answer, certainly more people I know seem to be drinking shandy than before, so provided someone can work how many you have and still drive it might make it.
