Selecting a Book

The Guardian has an article on how to choose a book from the growing number of yearly releases. The suggestions boil down to the use of the ‘McLuhan test’ — turn to page 69 and read it, if you like it, take it — check bestseller lists in other countries or pick rising stars to keep ahead of the crowd, browsing, word of mouth and intuition.
